I wanted to quit Taekwon-Do as a Green Belt… 😯⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At some stage every Taekwon-Do student will not want to go training! Trust me, it’s inevitable for every student!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me, I was a green belt and really enjoyed Taekwon-Do still but that summer the weather was good and football ⚽️ with my friends outside was more tempting than getting on my Taekwon-Do uniform and leaving the fun.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Luckily for kids they mostly live in the present moment unlike adults who live more in the future or the past, but that’s also a challenge 😅⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today most young kids (as are adults) are surrounded by the abundance of Dopamine fueled activities more than ever before.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Be it…YouTube, Tablets, PlayStation, Playing With Friends, Favourite TV shows etc… 🥳⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s no wonder they don’t want to leave it and go put on their Taekwon-Do uniform. 🥋⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Luckily for me, my parents really saw the benefits of Taekwon-Do training and the discipline of dedicating to train consistently.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Any real rewards in anything we do come from a long term dedication of time and effort.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Everytime parents tell me, “I’m finding it hard to get them to training”. 90% of the time I dont see that same reluctance in the kids when they are at training.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are usually 3 answers; ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣ – They aren’t enjoying Taekwon-Do — > Fair 👍⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2️⃣- They are lazy & prefer being in their comfort zone — > Get Training 👊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3️⃣- They aren’t happy to leave a Dopamine fueled activity –> Solution Below 👇⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s worth noting, are they really fed up of Taekwon-Do or are they just not too keen on leaving a Dopamine fueled activity? 🤔⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔑 Here’s a good test… time any chores or homework to take place before its time to get ready for training.

Your typical class compiles of a full body warm up including dynamic stretching and mobility, skill development exercises, padwork to develop punching and kicking techniques and combinations, full body conditioning and toning exercises, fun physical fitness games and a full body cool down and stretch out.
